CENTRAL ELKO COUNTY IN NEVADA THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF...DEETH...RYNDON...SOUTH FORK... SPRING CREEK * UNTIL 500 PM PDT * AT 410 PM PDT...A NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE EMPLOYEE REPORTED A WIND GUST TO 69 MPH IN SPRING CREEK. THESE SEVERE STORMS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH. NORTHERN GREAT BASIN FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ELKO NV 150 PM PDT SAT MAY 26 2001 SYNOPSIS...AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE NORTH OF THE SILVER STATE THROUGH MONDAY. THIS WILL BRING CLOUDS AND COOLER TEMPERATURES TO THE AREA...AS WELL AS A SMALL THREAT OF THUNDERSTORMS TO THE CENTRAL MOUNTAIN AREAS. ON WEDNESDAY HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD IN ONCE AGAIN BRINGING WARMER TEMPERATURES AND DRY WEATHER. SHORT TERM...MID LEVEL DISTURBANCE MOVED THROUGH NORTHERN NEVADA THIS MORNING...LEAVING DESTABILIZED AIR IN ITS WAKE. THIS UNSTABLE AIR HAS TRIGGERED A NUMBER OF THUNDERSTORMS...INCLUDING A LINE THAT LOOKS SEVERE. THE STORMS WILL CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING HOURS... THEN DISSIPATE WITH THE LOSS OF SURFACE HEATING.
