THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LINCOLN HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SHELBY COUNTY IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS

* UNTIL 1030 PM CDT

* AT 725 PM CDT...FLASH FLOODING WAS STILL BEING REPORTED ACROSS   
  PORTIONS OF SHELBY COUNTY AND THEREFORE THE WARNING HAS BEEN 
  EXTENDED. THE SHELBY COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT REPORTED NUMEROUS
  RURAL ROADS WITH SEVERAL FEET OF WATER FLOWING OVER THE TOP OF
  THEM. 
  
* EVEN THOUGH THE RAIN HAS STOPPED...IT TAKES SEVERAL HOURS
  FOR THE WATER TO RUN OFF. HIGH WATERS WILL STILL BE ENCOUNTERED   
  THROUGH MUCH OF THE EVENING.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODS. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT AT NIGHT TO JUDGE HOW
MUCH WATER COVERS ROADWAYS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS FLOODED ROADWAYS.
