  THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF PAYSON
  EAST CENTRAL YAVAPAI COUNTY IN ARIZONA
  THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF CAMP VERDE

* AT 513 PM MST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED   
  A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM ABOUT 5 MILES NORTHWEST OF                   
  PAYSON...MOVING WEST AT 30 MPH. ANOTHER STORM WAS LOCATED ABOUT 10

SYNOPSIS...HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT WILL STRENGTHEN OVER THE NEXT FEW
DAYS AND RESULT IN A MORE STABLE ATMOSPHERE OVER NORTHERN ARIZONA.
EXPECT ONLY ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ON THE
FOURTH OF JULY. THE AIR MASS WILL ONCE AGAIN BECOME MORE MOIST AND
UNSTABLE LATER IN THE WEEK WITH AN INCREASE IN THUNDERSTORM
ACTIVITY.

DISCUSSION...THE HIGH ALOFT OVER THE FOUR CORNERS REGION CONTINUES
TO STRENGTHEN AND GEOPOTENTIAL HEIGHTS ARE EXPECTED TO APPROACH 600
DAM OVER THE NEXT DAY OR TWO. THE STRONG SUBSIDENCE ASSOCIATED WITH
THIS STRENGTHENING HAS STABILIZED THE ENVIRONMENT WITH WARMER
TEMPERATURES ALOFT AND MODERATE DRYING. SINCE THERE HAS NOT BEEN
MUCH IN THE WAY OF LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE IN THE REGION...THIS LOSS OF
MID LEVEL MOISTURE HAS HAD A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON CONVECTIVE
ACTIVITY ACROSS THE REGION TODAY. EXPECT THIS PATTERN TO HOLD FOR A
DAY OR TWO WITH ONLY ISOLATED TO SCATTERED CONVECTIVE ACTIVITY
DEVELOPING OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN AND THEN MOVING INTO THE LOWER
ELEVATIONS LATER IN THE DAY. THE HIGH BEGINS TO SHIFT FROM THE FOUR
CORNERS REGION TO EASTERN NM LATER IN THE WEEK AND EXPECT THE FLOW
TO VEER FROM THE EAST TO THE SOUTH. THIS SHOULD PRODUCE A GRADUAL
INCREASE IN MOISTURE AND CONVECTIVE ACTIVITY. THERE IS SOME HINT OF
ANOTHER DRYING TREND LATE IN THE EXTENDED BUT GIVEN THE
UNCERTAINTIES IN THE LONG RANGE MODELS AT THIS TIME OF YEAR WILL
GROUP ALL DAYS TOGETHER AND GO WITH A CHANCE OF SHOWERS EACH DAY.
