TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

   EASTERN NEBRASKA                           
   SOUTHEASTERN SOUTH DAKOTA                       

EFFECTIVE THIS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 430 PM UNTIL
1000 PM CDT.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS
TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 75 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST
OF A LINE FROM 15 MILES NORTH OF MITCHELL SOUTH DAKOTA TO 40 MILES
SOUTH OF COLUMBUS NEBRASKA.

INTO THE WATCH AREA. AIR MASS VERY UNSTABLE WITH CAPES AROUND 3000
J/KG. STRONGLY VEERING WIND PROFILE WILL ENHANCE POTENTIAL FOR
SUPERCELLS WITH ISOLATED TORNADOES AND SCATTERED LARGE HAIL AND
DAMAGING WINDS.

AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 2 INCHES.  EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND
GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS.  A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 500.
