SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

   EASTERN MONTANA                            
   WESTERN NORTH DAKOTA                       

EFFECTIVE THIS FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 515 PM UNTIL 1100
PM MDT.

HAIL TO 3 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 80
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 75 STATUTE MILES
EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 85 MILES SOUTHWEST OF DICKINSON NORTH
DAKOTA TO 55 MILES NORTH OF WILLISTON NORTH DAKOTA.

HAIL AND DAMAGING DOWNBURSTS ARE POSSIBLE WITH THE STORMS AS THEY
MOVE THROUGH ENVIRONMENT CHARACTERIZED BY DEEP MIXED LAYER AND
STEEP LAPSE RATES.
