THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SCOTLAND COUNTY IN NORTH CAROLINA

* UNTIL 530 PM EDT

* AT 227 PM EDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED SLOW MOVING
  THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO REDEVELOP AND MOVE REPEATEDLY NORTH OVER
  THE SAME LOCATIONS FROM NEAR LAURINBURG TO NEAR GIBSON.

* RADAR INDICATED 2 TO 3 1/2 INCHES OF RAIN HAD ALREADY FALLEN JUST
  NORTH OF GIBSON AND LAW ENFORCEMENT INDICATED NEARLY 2 INCHES FELL
  BETWEEN 130 AND 230 PM IN LAURINBURG.

* WATER WAS BEGINNING TO RISE ON AREA STREAMS AND CREEKS ESPECIALLY
  AROUND LAURINBURG. OVER A HALF FOOT OF WATER WAS ALSO FLOWING
  ACROSS 401 BYPASS WEST BOUND AT US-74 IN THE CITY.

* FLASH FLOODING IS LIKELY THROUGH 530 PM AS THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE (
  TO DROP HEAVY RAIN.

* MOTORISTS ARE URGED NOT TO TRAVEL UNLESS OF AN EMERGENCY. REMEMBER
  TO NEVER DRIVE THROUGH FLOWING WATER OR WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH.
