SOUTHEAST ARIZONA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TUCSON AZ 920 PM MST THU JUL 8 1999 SYNOPSIS...HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT NEAR THE FOUR CORNERS AREA WILL KEEP SOUTHERN ARIZONA IN A PERSISTENT MONSOON FLOW THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK. SCATTERED MAINLY AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS...SOME WITH HEAVY RAINFALL AND STRONG WINDS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THIS PERIOD. A STRONG DISTURBANCE OVER SOUTHERN TEXAS AND NORTHEAST MEXICO WILL PUSH WEST INTO THE AREA LATE FRIDAY...POSSIBLY ENHANCING THE THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY. DISCUSSION...A DOWN DAY TODAY OVER SOUTHEAST ARIZONA COMPARED TO THE LAST SEVERAL...ALTHOUGH SOME OF THE STORMS LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING ARE PRODUCING AREAS OF HEAVY RAINFALL.
