Area forecast discussion, Jun 24, 2:18 PM CDT, 1 hour 17 minutes before
AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NASHVILLE TN 215 PM CDT THU JUN 24 1999 LOW PRES AREA MOVING SLOWLY EASTWARD ACROSS OHIO RIVER VALLEY CONTINUES TO PRODUCE SCATTERED SHOWERS OVER NORTHERN MIDDLE TN. EXPECT THIS TREND TO CONTINUE, AS LOW PRES SYSTEM MAINTAINS ITS SLOW EWD TRACK OVERNIGHT. BELIEVE MAIN RAIN AREA TO MIGRATE THROUGH NASHVILLE AREA THIS EVENING AND INTO NORTHEASTERN MIDDLE TN BY LATE TONIGHT. EXPECT SOME CLEARING TO TAKE PLACE OVER SOME PARTS OF WESTERN PARTS OF THE MID-STATE AFTER MIDNIGHT, AS DRIER AIR WORKS IN ON THE BACKSIDE OF LOW PRES AREA. WITH WINDS NEAR CALM AND WET GROUND, BELIEVE FOG COULD BECOME A LATE-NIGHT PROBLEM WHERE SKIES CLEAR AND WILL PROBABLY MENTION THAT POTENTIAL IN ZFP. EXPECT A GENERAL DRYING TREND (WITH LOWER POPS) FOR THE 2ND THROUGH 4TH PERIODS, WITH A DECREASE IN CLOUDINESS. THERE IS A SMALL POSSIBILITY, HOWEVER, THAT WIDELY SCATTERED OR SCATTERED SHOWERS COULD WORK THEIR WAY BACK INTO SOUTHWESTERN MIDDLE TN AS EARLY AS FRIDAY NIGHT, IN ADVANCE OF ANOTHER LOW PRESSURE AREA AND UPPER LEVEL VORTICITY LOBE OUT OF THE SOUTHERN PLAINS AND LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY. AVN 1000-500MB MEAN RH PROGS SUGGEST ANOTHER DOSE OF PRECIPITATION SPREADING NORTHEASTWARD OVER ALL OF MIDDLE TN SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT, AS CONTINUING INTO SUNDAY. FWC/FAN TEMPERATURE FORECASTS LOOK REASONABLE, AND WILL PROBABLY STAY CLOSE TO THOSE VALUES. BNA BB 70/88/70/88 74 19411 CSV BB 66/80/63/81 70 19831
