THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIAMI HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHEASTERN PALM BEACH COUNTY IN SOUTHEASTERN FLORIDA

* UNTIL 505 PM EST

* AS OF 11 AM THIS MORNING... DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES OF UP TO 20
  INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN NORTHEAST PALM BEACH COUNTY BETWEEN
  MIDNIGHT AND 1030 THIS MORNING. THE SOUTH FLORIDA WATER
  MANAGEMENT DISTRICT GAGE NEAR NORTH LAKE BOULEVARD AND
  ALT A1A REPORTED MORE THAN 30 INCHES OF RAINFALL. REPORTS HAVE JUST
  BEEN RECEIVED OF EXTENSIVE FLOODING IN HOMES AND ROADWAYS
  PARTICULARLY IN THE RIVIERA BEACH-NORTH PALM BEACH AREA...SO THE
  URBAN FLOOD ADVISORY IS BEING UPGRADED TO A FLOOD WARNING FOR
  NORTHEASTERN PALM BEACH COUNTY.  RAINFALL IS NOW BEGINNING TO
  TAPER OFF IN THE AREA... BUT IT WILL TAKE SEVERAL HOURS AT LEAST
  FOR THE STANDING WATER TO DRAIN.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS
BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. NEVER
TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT. ~TO
ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.

THIS MORNING WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY GUSTY WINDS AND LOCALIZED FLOODING
OF LOW LYING AREAS. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF THREE INCHES OR MORE ARE POSSIBLE
ALONG THE COAST FROM PALM BEACH NORTHWARD.

STRENGTHENING WINDS FROM THE SOUTHEAST WILL PRODUCE RIP CURRENTS ALONG
BEACH AREAS OF DADE BROWARD AND PALM BEACH COUNTIES. BATHERS ARE URGED
TO CHECK WITH LIFE GUARDS BEFORE ENTERING THE WATER.
