THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS EXTENDED THE

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING...
  GUADALUPE COUNTY IN TEXAS  COMAL COUNTY IN TEXAS 

* UNTIL 330 PM CDT

*AT 120 PM DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A BAND OF HEAVY RAINS ACROSS 
NORTHERN GUADALUPE COUNTY AND EASTERN COMAL COUNTY.  RAINFALL 
RATES ARE ESTIMATED BETWEEN 2 TO 3 INCHES AN HOUR. 

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CAUSE FLASH 
FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...LOW WATER CROSSINGS AND 
UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE 
BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO 
FLASH FLOODING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR
CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS. CAMPERS SHOULD AVOID
CAMPING ALONG STREAMS OR CREEKS DURING THREATENING RAINS.
