000 TTAA00 KEWX 150123 FFWSAT TXC029-150300- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 825 PM CDT MON JUN 14 1999 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A * FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING... BEXAR COUNTY IN TEXAS * UNTIL 1000 PM CDT AT 820 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAIN CONTINUING OVER NORTH AND WEST SAN ANTONIO WITH RAINFALL RATES AS HIGH AS ONE TO TWO INCHES PER HOUR. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING SLOWLY TOWARDS THE SOUTHWEST AND PRODUCING GUSTY WINDS AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. THE HEAVIEST RAINS WERE OVER THE CITIES NORTH AND WEST WEST SIDES BETWEEN HOLLYWOOD PARK...LEON SPRINGS AND LACKLAND AFB. LOCALLY RAINFALL TOTALS OF ONE TO THREE INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE STRONGER STORMS ALONG WITH HAIL. LAKE HILLS IN NORTHWEST SAN ANTONIO REPORTED 3.10 THIS EVENING. MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO USE EXTRA CAUTION DUE TO STREET FLOODING AND DRIVE AT REDUCED SPEEDS AS VISIBILITIES WILL BE VERY POOR IN THE HEAVY RAIN. KEEP CHILDREN AWAY FROM DRAINAGE DITCHES/RIVERS AND CREEKS. THE THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD SLOWLY DISSIPATE BETWEEN 9 AND 10 PM BUT THE RUNOFF WILL CONTINUE.
