SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS FORECAST DISCUSSION...UPDATE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX
345 AM CDT TUE AUG 24 1999

REMAINS OF BRET LOOKING MORE LIKE A STACKED COLD CORE LOW THAN A
TROPICAL LOW.  CURRENT TRACK BASED ON RADAR AND SATELLITE IMAGERY
HAS BRET MOVING WEST NORTHWEST AT 10 MPH.  THIS TRACK WILL KEEP ALL
OF THE AREA UNDER A DEEP MARITIME FLOW.  RESULT...HIGH PRECIPITABLE
WATER CONTENT AND CONTINUED CHANCE FOR SHOWERS TODAY.  WILL ADJUST
FLASH FLOOD WATCH TO COVER WESTERN HILL COUNTRY AND ALL BUT
NORTHEAST COUNTIES OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS.  THIS WILL RUN THROUGH
7PM.

WITH BRET GONE TONIGHT, THE ESCARPMENT AND SUFFICIENT LOW LEVEL JET
WILL PRODUCE LIGHT RAIN TONIGHT TO THE WEST.  WEDNESDAY, THE
PROXIMITY OF THE WESTERLIES SHIFTS THE WINDS TO A DRIER EASTERLY
DIRECTION.  SHOWERS WILL BE CONFINED TO THE SOUTHERN MOST COUNTIES
ALONG THE SEABREEZE BOUNDARY. THERE IS A LOW CHANCE THE CONVECTION
ON THE COLD FRONT COULD MOVE SOUTH INTO NORTHEASTERN COUNTIES WED
AFTERNOON/EVENING. OVERALL DECREASING CLOUDINESS WILL ALLOW TEMPS TO
REBOUND TO NEAR NORMAL WEDNESDAY.  COULD HAVE SOME RADIATION GROUND
FOG AROUND THURSDAY MORNING.
