806 WUUS1 KMIA 030133 RRA SVRMIA AMZ631-652-653-672-673-FLC087-030230- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIAMI FL 831 PM EST MON FEB 2 1998 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIAMI FL HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 930 PM EST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHERN FLORIDA ...MONROE UPPER KEYS INCLUDING ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS ...MONROE MIDDLE KEYS INCLUDING ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS AT 823 PM EST... DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AN AREA OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS SOUTH OF THE MIDDLE KEYS MOVING NORTH NORTHEAST TOWARD THE MIDDLE AND UPPER KEYS. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE STILL MOVING AT 40 MPH. FLORIDA KEYS EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT REPORTS A STATE OF EMERGENCY IS BEING DECLARED FOR THE ENTIRE KEYS DUE TO POWER LINES DOWN AND DEBRIS OVER MANY ROADWAYS. EMERGENCY RESCUE PERSONNEL ARE HAVING A ROUGH TIME WITH RESCUE AND CLEANUP DUE TO LACK OF POWER. SEVERAL INJURIES HAVE BEEN REPORTED BY LITTLE ELSE IS KNOWN AT THIS TIME. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK REFUGE FROM THE WEATHER IN A STRONG BUILDING. DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN... AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM.
