EXTREME SOUTHERN PANHANDLE...AND LOW ROLLING PLAINS THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. THE MAIN THREAT WILL BE LARGE HAIL AND HIGH WINDS. A COLD FRONT HAS VIRTUALLY STALLED JUST NORTH OF THE SOUTH PLAINS. AT 1 PM...THERE WAS ALMOST A 30 DEGREE TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AMARILLO AND CHILDRESS. OTHER INGREDIENTS WILL COME TOGETHER ACROSS OUR AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT TO CAUSE POTENTIALLY SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. THE ATMOSPHERE IS WARM...MOIST AND UNSTABLE. IN ADDITION...A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL APPROACH FROM THE WEST.
