668 WUUS1 KATL 010712 RRA SVRATL GAC097-121-010800- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PEACHTREE CITY GA 210 AM EST WED APR 1 1998 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PEACHTREE CITY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 300 AM EST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA ...DOUGLAS COUNTY...FULTON COUNTY AT 210 AM EST DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 5 MILES NORTHEAST OF WHITESBURG IN SOUTHEAST CARROLL COUNTY MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH. THIS TRACK WILL TAKE THE STORM ALONG THE CHATTAHOOCHEE RIVER TO NEAR EAST POINT BY 230 AM AND DOWNTOWN ATLANTA BY 245 AM. DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN...AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. STAY INSIDE AWAY FROM WINDOWS UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED. BOATERS, GOLFERS, AND OTHERS INVOLVED IN OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES SHOULD SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY.
