000 TTAA00 KCRP 190200 RRA TORCRP TXC175-190245- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CORPUS CHRISTI TX 800 PM CST WED FEB 18 1998 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CORPUS CHRISTI HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 845 PM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...... IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS ...GOLIAD COUNTY AT 800 PM CST DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A TORNADO 5 MILES WEST OF GOLIAD NEAR HIGHWAY 59. THIS TORNADO WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 15 MPH AND SHOULD MISS THE TOWN OF GOLIAD TO THE SOUTHWEST. HOWEVER LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS ARE POSSIBLE IN GOLIAD. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...THE SAFEST PLACE IS A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS AVAILABLE...SEEK SHELTER IN AN INTERIOR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET ON THE LOWEST FLOOR. USE BLANKETS...PILLOWS... OR CUSHIONS TO COVER YOUR BODY. AVOID WINDOWS.

MORE TYPICAL SE WINDS TODAY VS THE WESTERLY WINDS WE EXPERIENCED ON TUE. ANOTHER FRONT IS SCHEDULED TO MOVE THROUGH THU AM WITH A NWLY FLOW. THIS WILL BRING DRIER AIR INTO THE REGION WITH PLEASANT TEMPS CONTINUING. NEXT CHC FOR PCPN WILL COME OVER THE WEEKEND WITH NEXT H5 LOW AND TROF MOVG ACROSS THE REGION.
