000 TTAA00 KTUS 211105 RRA SVRTUS AZC019-021-211210- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TUCSON AZ 403 AM MST SUN SEP 21 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TUCSON AZ HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 510 AM MST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHERN ARIZONA ...EASTERN PIMA COUNTY INCLUDING THE TUCSON METRO AREA IN SOUTH CENTRAL ARIZONA ...SOUTHEASTERN PINAL COUNTY AT 400 AM TUCSON DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED TWO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN EASTERN PIMA COUNTY. THE FIRST SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS OVER NORTHWEST TUCSON AND WILL BE MOVING INTO ORO VALLEY AND SAN MANUEL IN THE NEXT HOUR. THE OTHER SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS EAST O2F GREEN VALLEY AND WILL MOVE INTO THE VAIL AREA BY 430 AM.

SOUTHEAST ARIZONA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TUCSON AZ 230 AM MST SUN SEP 21 1997 LOTS OF STORMS TONIGHT...KIND OF AS EXPECTED...IN ADVECTION AREA AHEAD OF TROF. STORMS SHOULD DIE OFF BY MID MORNING THEN START AGAIN THIS AFTERNOON. HAVE HAD REPORTS OF HAIL WITH STORMS AND EXPECT THIS AFTN WILL BE NO DIFFERENT. FORTUNATELY THEY ARE MOVG TOO FAST TO DO ANY FLOODING. GETTING A LOT OF REPEAT STORM AND THIS IS THE FOURTH STORM TO MOVE ACROSS CITY. MOST ARE SMALL IN AREA. GOING WITH ETA WHICH KEEPS US ACTIVE TODAY...DRYS THINGS OUT SOME TONIGHT AND MON...THEN BRINGS MSTR BACK IN AGAIN AHEAD OF NORA ON TUE. AS FOR NORA...THIS STORM MAY GET AS STRONG AS LINDUD BUT PROBLEM HERE IS THAT TRACK MAY BRING REMNANTS TO SRN AZ ON WED. WE MAY HAVE TO START THINKING IN TERMS OF BRIEFING EMERGENCY MANAGERS AND SUCH ON MON BECAUSE THIS IS THE TYPE OF SLOW MOVG STORM THAT CAN DOUSE THIS AREA. TUS 552. HOLBROOK TUS...NONE.
