002 WUUS1 KRDU 220315 RRA SVRRDU NCC101-220400- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RALEIGH/DURHAM NC 1114 PM EDT MON APR 21 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH/DURHAM HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN EAST CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA ...JOHNSTON COUNTY AT 1112 PM WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM JUST SOUTH OF GARNER IN EASTERN WAKE COUNTY MOVING INTO JOHNSTON COUNTY. THIS STORM WAS MOVING TO THE EAST-SOUTHEAST AT 40 MPH AND PRODUCE HAIL GREATER THAN ONE INCH IN DIAMETER AS IT CROSSED WAKE COUNTY. PEOPLE SHOULD BE ESPECIALLY ALERT FOR LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WIND. FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN CAN POSE A DANGER WITH ANY THUNDERSTORM. SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY AND REPORT DAMAGE TO EMERGENCY OFFICIALS FOR RELAY TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
