THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH/DURHAM HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1115 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA
 
   ...SOUTHERN GUILFORD COUNTY...RANDOLPH COUNTY
 
AT 10:12 PM WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAINS CONTINUING
ACROSS MUCH OF RANDOLPH AND SOUTHERN GUILFORD COUNTIES. THE RAIN WAS IN
EXCESS OF AN INCH PER HOUR AND ROADWAYS HAD 8 INCHES OF WATER ACROSS
THEM IN THE THOMASVILLE AREA. THIS WAS REPORTED BY THE SPOTTERS IN THE
REGION. HEAVY RAINS WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT THE AREA FOR THE NEXT HOUR
MAKING DRIVING HAZARDOUS.
 
FLOOD WATERS ARE HARDER TO SEE AT NIGHT AND MOST FLASH FLOOD
FATALITIES OCCUR AT NIGHT.  AVOID DRIVING ACROSS FLOODED ROADWAYS.
WATER TWO FEET DEEP CAN FLOAT MOST CARS OFF THE ROAD.  REPORT
FLOODING TO LOCAL EMERGENCY OFFICIALS IMMEDIATELY.
