FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1000 PM EST
FOR THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN WEST PENNSYLVANIA
 
   ...INDIANA COUNTY...WESTMORELAND COUNTY
 
HEAVY RAINFALL CONTINUES TO MOVE IN FROM THE SOUTHEAST. ALREADY TWO TO
TWO AND ONE-HALF INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS WESTERN PORTIONS OF
BOTH INDIANA AND WESTMORELAND COUNTIES. STREAMS ARE RUNNING RIGHT AT
BANKFULL AND HEAVY RAINFALL THROUGH THE EVENING WILL CAUSE STREAMS AND
CREEKS TO BEGIN TO OVERFLOW THEIR BANKS.
 
BE CAREFUL AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGER OF
FLOODS.  IF YOU GET ANY INDICATION THAT FLOODS ARE
APPROACHING...QUICKLY  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROAD.
NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
