000 TTAA00 KMOB 211604 RRA SVRMOB ALC099-211645- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL 1003 AM CST FRI FEB 21 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1045 AM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA ...MONROE COUNTY AT 1002 AM...MOBILE DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM MOVING THROUGH MUCH OF MONROE COUNTY. THIS STORM WILL BE MOVING THROUGH MONROEVILLE THROUGH 1015 AM AND THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE COUNTY THROUGH 1030 AM. THIS STORM WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH AND VERY HEAVY RAINS OF OVER ONE INCH IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING. REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.
