000 TTAA00 KMOB 211414 RRA SVRMOB ALC129-211515- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL 814 AM CST FRI FEB 21 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 915 AM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA ...WASHINGTON COUNTY AT 813 AM CST MOBILE DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR SHOWED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUING TO MOVE THROUGH THE COUNTY. THE STRONGEST STORMS WILL MOVE SOUTH OF CHATOM AND LEROY BY 845 AM AND SHOULD MOVE THROUGH THE REST OF THE COUNTY BY 915 AM. THE MAIN THREAT FROM THESE STORMS WILL BE FROM DAMAGING WINDS. THE STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 55 MPH. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING. REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS. V
