000 TTAA00 KMIA 252017 RRA SVRMIA FLC043-252115- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIAMI FL 416 PM EDT MON AUG 25 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIAMI HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 515 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...... IN SOUTH FLORIDA ...GLADES COUNTY AT 415 PM...MIAMI DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OVER CENTRAL GLADES COUNTY EXTENDING FROM 5 MILES SOUTHEAST OF PALMDALE TO ABOUT 10 MILES NORTHWEST OF PALMDALE. THIS STORM IS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 5 MPH. IT IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH AND POSSIBLY SOME LARGE HAIL. DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HA IL...VERY HEAVY RAIN... AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM. SEEK SHELTER IN A STRONG BUILDING. STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS. DO NOT USE TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES.
