IN SOUTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO ...NORTHERN EDDY COUNTY AT 731 PM MDT...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS INDICATED BY MIDLAND DOPPLER RADAR AND SPOTTER REPORTS 5 MILES NORTH OF ARTESIA OR 3 MILES WEST OF ESPUELA MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 15 MPH. SOME LOCATIONS IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM ARE... ESPUELA...ARTESIA AND RIVERSIDE. THIS STORM HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING HAIL UP TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER AND WIND GUSTS EXCEEDING 60 MPH. THESE THUNDERSTORMS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH AN AREA OF LOW LEVEL MOISTURE CONVERGENCE WITH DEW POINTS AOA 60F. CAPES OF 2000-3000 J/KG AND LIFTED INDICIES OF -5 WERE INDICATED ON THE 00Z/11TH KMAF SOUNDING. CURRENT INDICATIONS ARE FOR THESE STORMS TO PERSIST THROUGH 10 PM BEFORE WEAKENING DUE TO LOSS OF DAYTIME HEATING. KMAF 88D AND WSM/JTN WIND PROFILERS INDICATED WEAK WINDS ALOFT...WITH WEAK EASTERLIES VEERING TO WEAK WESTERLIES ABOVE 9K FT. COORDINATED WITH SPC.
