AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND TX
308 PM CDT TUE JUN 10 1997

LATEST SATELLITE IMAGERY INDICATES LOW CLOUDS FINALLY LIFTING ACROSS
MOST OF FA. SURFACE ANALYSIS INDICATES WEAK FRONTAL BOUNDARY ACROSS
SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO AND SOUTHERN FA. BELIEVE THIS BOUNDARY MAY SERVE
AS A FOCUS FOR TRW ACTIVITY LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING AS SOME
CONVERGENCE EVIDENT ALONG IT. OTHERWISE...SURFACE MOISTURE REMAINS
WELL ENTRENCHED WITH DEWPOINTS RANGING FROM THE LOW 60S EAST OF
THE MOUNTAINS TO THE LOW 70S AT SANDERSON.

MODELS SHOW LITTLE CHANGE IN LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE THROUGH THE FIRST
TWO PERIODS. DEWPOINTS REMAIN IN THE LOWER 60S TONIGHT AND TOMORROW
ACROSS MOST OF FA. MODELS DO HINT AT SOME DRYING BEGINNING ON
THURSDAY MORNING (48 HOURS) WITH SURFACE TROF PUSHING INTO WESTERN
FA. ALSO...BY 48 HOURS...A 500 MB TROF ACROSS THE WESTERN PORTION OF
THE NATION BRINGS SOME UPPER-LEVEL DIFFLUENCE OVER THE CENTRAL FA.
WITH THE SURFACE TROF (DRYLINE) ACTING AS A FOCUS ON THURSDAY...TRW
ACTIVITY MAY DEVELOP.

FOR TONIGHT AND TOMORROW...BELIEVE ISOLATED TO WIDELY SCATTERED POPS
BEST FOR MOST AREAS. LATEST KMAF 88D DATA INDICATES SOME ACTIVITY
TRYING TO DEVELOP ACROSS BREWSTER COUNTY ATTM. APPEARS THIS ACTIVITY
IS FORMING ALONG THE BOUNDARY IN THIS AREA.

AS FOR TEMPERATURES...GUIDANCE LOWS LOOK ON TRACK GIVEN LOW-LEVEL
MOISTURE REMAINING OVERNIGHT. GUIDANCE HIGHS TOMORROW FOR CENTRAL PB
LOOK A LITTLE HIGH GIVEN THE EXPECTED RETURN OF LOW CLOUDS/FOG
TONIGHT. THUS... HAVE REDUCED HIGHS FOR CENTRAL PB.
ELSEWHERE...GUIDANCE LOOKS ON TRACK.

THANKS TO KLBB FOR COORDINATION!
