THIS MORNING...A DRYLINE WAS LOCATED FROM EASTERN NEW MEXICO INTO FAR WEST TEXAS. BY MID AFTERNOON...THIS DRYLINE IS FORECAST TO MOVE TO NEAR THE TEXAS/NEW MEXICO BORDER. ADDITIONALLY...THE APPROACH OF AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE AND AFTERNOON HEATING ARE EXPECTED TO DESTABILIZE THE ATMOSPHERE. WITH ABUNDANT QUANTITIES OF LOW LEVEL MOISTURE ALREADY IN PLACE OVER THE AREA...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP AND MOVE NORTHEAST INTO THE SOUTH PLAINS AND ROLLING PLAINS. A FEW OF THESE STORMS COULD BECOME SEVERE LATER THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING HOURS. THE MAIN SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FROM WILL BE LARGE HAIL. ISOLATED TORNADOES ARE ALSO A POSSIBILITY.
