THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND
EARLY THIS EVENING OVER THE SOUTHERN PANHANDLE...THE SOUTH PLAINS
AND THE LOW ROLLING PLAINS.

THIS MORNINGS WEATHER MAP SHOWED A NEARLY STATIONARY FRONTAL
BOUNDARY THAT STRETCHED FROM EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO
NORTHEAST TO JUST SOUTH OF LUBBOCK INTO THE NORTHERN LOW ROLLING
PLAINS JUST SOUTH OF CHILDRESS.  THE ATMOSPHERE IS VERY MOIST AND
UNSTABLE ACROSS THE REGION.  SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED
TO DEVELOP AS A WEAK DISTURBANCE AND AFTERNOON HEATING AID IN
PRODUCING LIFT ALONG THE FRONT.  MOVEMENT OF THESE STORMS WILL BE
EAST NORTHEAST.

THERE IS A THREAT OVER THESE AREAS OF LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS.
RESIDENTS IN THE OUTLOOK AREA SHOULD BE ALERT TO CHANGING WEATHER
CONDITIONS TODAY.  SPOTTERS AND EMERGENCY MANAGERS SHOULD PREPARE FOR
