000 TTAA00 KNEW 242253 RRA SVRNEW MSC047-242345- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW ORLEANS LA 452 PM CST FRI JAN 24 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 545 PM CST FOR RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTH MISSISSIPPI ...HARRISON COUNTY AT 450 PM CST RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WITH LARGE HAIL 8 MILES NORTHWEST OF PASS CHRISTIAN. THE THUNDERSTORM IS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MILES AN HOUR. TOWNS IN THE PATH OF THE STORM INCLUDE GULFPORT AND LYMAN. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO ^PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING. REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.
