000 TTAA00 KLCH 210556 RRA SVRLCH LAC001-053-210645- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LAKE CHARLES LA 1155 PM CST THU FEB 20 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAKE CHARLES HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1245 AM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA ...ACADIA PARISH...JEFFERSON DAVIS PARISH AT 1153 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 10 MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE CITY OF JENNINGS. MOVEMENT WAS TO THE NORTHEAST AT 45 MPH. THE CITIES OF JENNINGS AND EVANGELINE ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM. WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 55 MILES AN HOUR CAN BE EXPECTED. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING. REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.
