IN EAST CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI ...JONES COUNTY AT 1226 PM RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 5 MILES SOUTH OF LAUREL MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH. THIS STORM WILL MOVE NEAR LAUREL BY 1245 PM. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING. REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS. <

IN ADDITION...UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES MOVING EASTWARD FROM TEXAS ARE HELPING TO LIFT THIS WARM MOIST UNSTABLE AIR. AS A RESULT... THUNDERSTORMS ARE AFFECTING MUCH OF MISSISSIPPI THIS MORNING...AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE DAY.
