AT 545 PM...RADAR INDICATED A POSSIBLE TORNADO BETWEEN LAKE CREEK AND
VASCO. PARENT STORM WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 15 MPH.

BASEMENT.  GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE.

THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS LATE THIS AFTERNOON
AND TONIGHT FOR THAT PART OF NORTH TEXAS LOCATED EAST OF A GRAHAM TO
SAN SABA LINE. THIS AREA BOUNDS A MODERATE RISK OF SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS LOCATED EAST OF A GAINESVILLE TO FORT WORTH TO
HILLSBORO LINE.

THE PRIMARY SEVERE WEATHER THREAT WILL BE FROM LARGE HAIL AND
DAMAGING DOWNBURST WINDS.  A FEW THUNDERSTORMS MAY ALSO PRODUCE
TORNADOES...ESPECIALLY IN NORTHEAST TEXAS BY EVENING.

THIS AFTERNOON A SURFACE LOW WAS POISED BETWEEN CHILDRESS AND WICHITA
FALLS. EXTENDING FROM THIS SURFACE LOW WAS AN ASSOCIATED TROF AXIS
GENERALLY ALONG AN ABILENE TO SAN ANGELO LINE. IN ADDITION...A
SECONDARY OUTFLOW BOUNDARY WAS STATIONARY ALONG THE EASTERN RED RIVER
VALLEY REGION.

THE AIRMASS OVER THE RISK AREA REMAINS WARM AND EXTREMELY UNSTABLE.
HOWEVER...A LAYER OF WARM AIR ABOVE THE SURFACE WILL SERVE
TO INHIBIT WIDESPREAD THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT UNTIL LATE AFTERNOON
OR EARLY EVENING. DAYTIME HEATING AND THE APPROACH OF AN UPPER LEVER
JET MAXIMUM WILL EVENTUALLY COMBINE TO OVERCOME THE LAYER OF WARM AIR
ALOFT. THUNDERSTORMS THAT DO DEVELOP MAY BECOME SEVERE IN A SHORT
PERIOD OF TIME. A FEW SUPERCELLS MAY SPAWN ISOLATED TORNADOES IN
NORTHEAST TEXAS WHERE THE VERTICAL WIND PROFILE IS MORE FAVORABLE FOR
TORNADIC DEVELOPMENT.
