IN NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS ...ELLIS COUNTY...HILL COUNTY AT 430 PM CST NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAINS CONTINUING OVER ELLIS AND HILL COUNTIES. SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES REPORT SEVERAL ROADS CLOSED IN ELLIS COUNTY. AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN IS LIKELY OVER THESE AREAS THROUGH THE EARLY EVENING HOURS. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. LAYERED CLOUDS AND OCCASIONAL RAIN WILL RETARD THE AMOUNT OF ATMOSPHERIC MIXING THE REST OF TODAY AND WILL MINIMIZE THE THREAT OF HIGH WINDS. HOWEVER...BOATERS ON AREA LAKES ARE STILL URGED TO EXERCISE CAUTION AS WIND SPEEDS OF 15 MPH WILL AT TIMES GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH.
