000 TTAA00 KFTW 202111 FFWFTW TXC309-210015- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORT WORTH TX 310 PM CST SAT DEC 20 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FORT WORTH HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 615 PM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS ...MCLENNAN COUNTY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATES 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS MUCH THE COUNTY SINCE NOON WITH 1.69 INCHES REPORTED AT THE WACO AIRPORT. AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN IS EXPECTED WHICH WILL PRODUCE FLASH FLOODING. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

LAYERED CLOUDS AND OCCASIONAL RAIN WILL RETARD THE AMOUNT OF ATMOSPHERIC MIXING THE REST OF TODAY AND WILL MINIMIZE THE THREAT OF HIGH WINDS. HOWEVER...BOATERS ON AREA LAKES ARE STILL URGED TO EXERCISE CAUTION AS WIND SPEEDS OF 15 MPH WILL AT TIMES GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH. THESE WIND SPEEDS WILL STILL MAKE LAKE WATERS CHOPPY AND POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS. LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
