FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1230 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...COLLIN COUNTY...DALLAS COUNTY
 
AT 934 PM...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LARGE THUNDERSTORM
WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL NEAR PLANO. THE STORM WAS PRODUCING UP TO 4
INCH PER HOUR RAINFALL RATES AND WAS MOVING SOUTH-SOUTHEAST AT 10 MPH.
THIS LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN WILL LIKELY CAUSE FLOODING OF LOW-LYING AND
URBAN AREAS.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH TONIGHT OVER
THE WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL PARTS OF NORTH TEXAS...GENERALLY WEST
OF A LINE FROM BONHAM TO WAXAHACHIE TO LAMPASAS. SOME CITIES
INCLUDED IN THIS AREA ARE DENTON...SHERMAN...BROWNWOOD...
MINERAL WELLS AND THE DALLAS/FORT WORTH METROPLEX.

THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING ACROSS WEST TEXAS AND NORTH INTO
OKLAHOMA LATE THIS AFTERNOON. A SURFACE BOUNDARY EXTENDED FROM THE
TEXAS PANHANDLE SOUTHEASTWARD ALONG THE RED RIVER. THE ATMOSPHERE
ACROSS THE SLIGHT RISK AREA HAS BECOME MODERATELY UNSTABLE. AS A
RESULT THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP INTO THE RISK AREA
THROUGH EARLY EVENING. THE MAIN THREAT OF SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE FROM
LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING DOWNBURST WINDS.

IN ADDITION TO THE THREAT OF SEVERE WEATHER...HEAVY RAINS ARE ALSO
