IN NORTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA ...SOUTHERN GRAND FORKS COUNTY AT 1130 PM CDT...RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM NEAR THE TOWN OF NORTHWOOD...OR ABOUT 35 MILES SOUTHWEST OF GRAND FORKS. MOVEMENT WAS EAST AT 25 MPH. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND OVER 57 MPH...HAIL 3/4 INCH IN DIAMETER OR LARGER...TORNADOES...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. SFC FRONT FROM NW TIP OF MN TO BETWEEN BIS AND JMS SHOWING VERY SLOW EASTWARD MOVEMENT AND PROGS KEEP BOUNDARY NEARLY STATIONARY OVERNIGHT. AIRMASS AHEAD OF FRONT VERY UNSTABLE WITH ADAP LI'S TO -10 AND SFC TD'S AOB 70. 00Z INL SOUNDING HAD A B+ AROUND 3000 J/KG. ALSO INL SOUNDING HAD K INDEX OF 34...PWAT 1.36 ALONG WITH GOOD THICKNESS DIFLUENCE OVER MN. ALSO RESPECTABLE MOIST CONVERGENC JUST EAST OF BOUNDARY.
