000 TTAA00 KATL 140425 RRA SVRATL GAC123-213-313-140515- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PEACHTREE CITY GA 1224 AM EDT SAT JUN 14 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PEACHTREE CITY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 115 AM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA ...GILMER COUNTY...MURRAY COUNTY...WHITFIELD COUNTY AT 1222 AM SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED...EIGHT MILES NORTHWEST OF DALTON...TEN MILES SOUTH OF DALTON AND EIGHT MILES SOUTHEAST OF CHATSWORTH. THE STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MILES AN HOUR. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. FOR YOUR PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS. HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS QUICKLY SO DON'T DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.
