000 TTAA00 KBUF 252147 RRA SVRBUF NYC073-NYZ523-524-252245- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BUFFALO NY 547 PM EDT WED JUN 25 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO NY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 645 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN WESTERN NEW YORK ...ORLEANS COUNTY AT 545PM DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ABOUT 5 MILES WIDE THAT EXTENDED ALONG RTE 104 IN ORLEANS COUNTY. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TOWARD THE EAST AT 30 MPH. THE CORE OF THESE STORMS WILL CROSS THROUGH THE TOWNS OF RIDGEWAY AND THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF LYNDONVILLE BETWEEN 545 AND 600PM THEN EAST ALONG RTE 104 TO HOLLY BETWEEN 600 AND 630PM. THESE STORMS BLEW DOWN A LARGE TREE AND POWER LINES NEAR THE TOWN OF NEWFANE DURING THE PAST HOUR. THESE STORMS MAY CONTAIN HAIL...GUSTY WINDS...FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS OF RAIN. PEOPLE IN THE PATH OF THESE STORMS SHOULD TAKE SELTER IMMEDIATELY. TUNE IN NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR YOUR LOCAL RADIO OR TV STATION FOR THE LATEST WEATHER INFORMATION.
