000 TTAA00 KBHM 092307 RRA SVRBHM ALC075-093-092355- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BIRMINGHAM AL 607 PM CDT WED JUL 9 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM AL HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 655 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA ...NORTHERN LAMAR COUNTY IN NORTHERN ALABAMA ...WESTERN MARION COUNTY AT 605 PM CDT...WEATHER RADAR SHOWED A CLUSTER OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER WESTERN MARION AND NORTHERN LAMAR COUNTIES. ONE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED NEAR BEXAR IN MARION COUNTY...WHILE ANOTHER STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR HENSON SPRINGS IN LAMAR COUNTY. THE STORMS WERE MOVING SOUTH AT 15 TO 20 MPH. LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS ARE LIKELY WITH THESE STORMS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH... DESTRUCTIVE HAIL... DEADLY LIGHTNING... AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.
