THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TOPEKA HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING  EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1100 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN EAST CENTRAL KANSAS
 
   ...GEARY COUNTY...SHAWNEE COUNTY...WABAUNSEE COUNTY
 
PERSISTENT THUNDERSTORMS GENERALLY ALONG INTERSTATE 70 BETWEEN TOPEKA
AND JUNCTION CITY HAVE DROPPED BETWEEN 2 AND 3 INCHES OF RAIN BETWEEN
7PM AND 8PM. THESE HEAVY RAINS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH ABOUT 11PM AND
WILL LIKELY CAUSE FLASH FLOODING.
 
HIGH WATER IS LIKELY ACROSS MANY INTERSECTIONS...ROADS AND HIGHWAYS. SOMROADBEDS AND BRIDGES...ESPECIALLY ON SECONDARY ROADS.. MAY WASH OUT DUE 
THE HEAVY RAINFALL. MOTORIST SHOULD BE ESPECIALLY CAREFULL FOR WATER
OVER ROADS AND LOW VISIBILITY IN DOWNPOURS.
 
 
 
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGvNIZE THE
DANGER OF FLOODING.
