AT 420 AM EDT...THE RIVER GAGE FOR THE RAHWAY RIVER AT SPRINGFIELD READ
5.1 FT. FLOOD STAGE IS 5.5 FT. ALTHOUGH THE HEAVIEST OF THE RAIN IS JUST
ABOUT OVER...RUNOFF FROM EARLIER HEAVY RAINS IS EXPECTED TO BRING THE
RAHWAY RIVER TO NEAR OR ABOVE FLOOD STAGE.
 
IN ADDITION...SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS NEAR THE RAHWAY RIVER MAY ALSO GO
OVER THEIR BANKS THIS MORNING DUE TO RUNOFF. IF YOU ARE TRAVELING THIS
MORNING...BE ALERT FOR FLOODED ROADS NEARBY.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
