000 TTAA00 KMHX 282108 SVRMHX NCC133-282200- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEWPORT NC 507 PM EDT SUN JUL 28 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEWPORT HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 600 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN EAST CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA ...ONSLOW COUNTY AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS AT 506 PM DOPPLER RADAR IN NEWPORT INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM NEAR CATHERINE LAKE WEST OF JACKSONVILLE. THE STORM WAS MOVING EAST AT 25 MPH AND WILL AFFECT JACKSONVILLE BY 530 PM...HUBERT AND SILVERDALE BY 545 PM. LARGE HAIL IN EXCESS OF 1 INCH IS LIKELY WITH THIS STORM. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM.
