DOPPLER RADAR IN NEWPORT HAS INDICTAED THAT 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN WESTERN ONSLOW COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON. THE HEAVIEST RAIN FELL IN AN AREA BETWEEN CAPE LEJUENE AND SWANSBORO. HEAVY RAINS HAVE ALSO FALLEN IN EASTERN CARTERET AND SOUTHERN CRAVEN COUNTIES. SMALL DITCHES HAVE FILLED UP AND WATER HAS COLLECTED IN LOW SPOTS ON ROADWAYS CREATING HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. URBAN FLOODING IS OCCURRING IN HAVELOCK. MOTORISTS IN THE AREA SHOULD DRIVE WITH EXTREME CAUTION. DO NOT DRIVE INTO WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH.
