FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1000 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN EAST CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA
 
   ...BEAUFORT COUNTY...SOUTHERN PITT COUNTY
 
AT 8 PM WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A BAND OF NEARLY STATIONARY
THUNDERSTORMS FROM NEAR AYDEN IN PITT COUNTY TO CHOCOWINITY AND
WASHINGTON IN BEAUFORT COUNTY. RADAR ESTIMATES OF UP TO 2 INCHES PER
HOUR WILL LEAD TO RUNOFF AND URBAN FLOODING BEFORE 9 PM. SOME STREETS
AND HIGHWAYS MAY BECOME IMPASSABLE DUE TO THE HEAVY RAIN.
 
IF YOU LIVE IN A FLOOD PRONE AREA MONITOR WATER LEVELS AND BE PREPARED
TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING OCCUR.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
