TORRENTIAL RAINFALL FROM HURRICANE BERTHA WAS PRODUCING TORRENTIAL
RAINFALL ACROSS MOST OF BEAUFORT COUNTY AT 920 PM. DOPPLER RADAR
RAINFALL ESTIMATES OF UP TO 4 INCHES IN THE PAST HOUR OVER SOUTHERN
BEAUFORT COUNTY AND HEAVY RAINFALL WILL PERSIST THROUGH 11 PM.
 
AT 915 PM...BEAUFORT EMERGENCY OFFICIALS REPORTED WATER RISING INTO
BUILDINGS IN BELHAVEN AND FLOODING IS LIKELY COUNTY WIDE. IF YOU ARE
IN A LOW LYING AREA...SEEK HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
