000 TTAA00 KSDF 081348 FFWSDF INC019-143-175-081445- BULLETIN - EBS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LOUISVILLE KY 943 AM EDT WED MAY 8 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOUISVILLE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1045 AM EDT FOR PERSONS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTH INDIANA ...CLARK COUNTY...SCOTT COUNTY...WASHINGTON COUNTY AT 935 AM EDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING EAST-WEST FROM JASPER TO PAOLI INDIANA. THE STORMS IN THE LINE WERE MOVING SLOWLY EASTWARD AND WERE PRODUCING RAINFALL OF 1 TO 1 1/2 INCHES PER HOUR. GROUND OVER THESE COUNTIES IS VERY WELL SATURATED AND STREAMS ARE AT BANKFULL. HEAVY RAIN WILL TRACK OVER SALEM...SCOTTSBURG AND HENRYVILLE INDIANA THROUGH 1030 AM EDT. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHI:CLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. KIRKPATRICK
