THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING    EFFECTIVE UNTIL  845 AM CDT
FOR RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA
 
   ...IBERVILLE PARISH
 
AT 530 AM CDT...IBERVILLE PARISH SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTED AREAS IN THE
PARISH HAD STANDING WATER IN SOME OF THE MORE FLOOD PRONE AREAS. THIS IS
A RESULT OF HEAVY RAINFALL THAT HAS BEEN UNDERWAY OVERNIGHT. NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE RADAR RAINFALL ESTIMATES INDICATED BETWEEN 4 AND 5
INCHES OF RAIN HAD FALLEN IN THE NORTHERN PART OF THE PARISH MAINLY
AROUND THE COMMUNITIES OF MARINGOUIN...ROSEDALE...AND GROSSE TETE.
 
IN ADDITION...THE RAINFALL RUNOFF WILL CAUSE MANY AREA STREAMS AND
BAYOUS TO SWELL RAPIDLY.  PERSONS ALONG BAYOU GROSSE TETE SHOULD PAY
PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO RISING WATER AND HEAD FOR HIGHER GROUND IF
FLOODING IS OBSERVED.
 
TRAVELLERS ALONG I-10 IN THE VICINITY AND OVER THE ATCHAFALAYA BASIN
SHOULD ALSO TRAVEL WITH EXTREME CAUTION AS HEAVY RAINS WILL REDUCE
VISIBILITY AND PRODUCE SLICK ROAD CONDITIONS FOR THE MORNING COMMUTE.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
