FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 440 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...

IN SOUTHEAST KENTUCKY

   ...BREATHITT
 
AT 330 PM EDT A SPOTTER IN CENTRAL BREATHITT COUNTY REPORTED A 3 INCH
RISE IN 45 MINUTES AT LOST CREEK.  LOST CREEK IS ALONG STATE ROUTE 15
NEAR QUICKSAND OR 5 MILES SOUTH AND WEST OF JACKSON.

THE CREEK HAS RISEN 5 FEET SINCE NOON AND WILL CONTINUE TO RISE
THROUGH 445 PM CDT.

THE LATEST ROUND OF THUNDERSTORMS WHICH MOVED THROUGH BREATHITT
COUNTY PRODUCED VERY HEAVY RAIN IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. MANY
CREEKS WILL RESPOND RAPIDLY TO THE RAINFALL.

NO ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IS EXPECTED IN BREATHITT COUNTY THROUGH 10 PM...
SO THE WATER LEVEL IN MANY CREEKS AND STREAMS WILL BEGIN TO DROP AFTER
SUNSET.

AS A REMINDER DON'T DRIVE ACROSS FLOODED ROADS! MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS
