000 TTAA00 KGRB 170249 SVRGRB WIC067-170345- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GREEN BAY WI 948 PM CDT WED OCT 16 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GREEN BAY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1045 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN NORTHEAST WISCONSIN ...LANGLADE COUNTY AT 950 PM...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 2 MILES SOUTH OF ANTIGO. THE STORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH AND WILL MOVE TO NEAR BRYANT AND POLAR BY 1030 PM. LARGE HAIL IS LIKELY WITH THE STORM. WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING. DON'T USE TELEPHONES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED. JKL

THIS EVENING'S HEAVY RAIN FROM SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...COMBINED WITH FALLEN LEAVES WHICH TEND TO CLOG STORM SEWERS...MAY CAUSE SOME MINOR STREET FLOODING. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR AT GREEN BAY INDICATED THAT 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAD FALLEN BETWEEN 700 AND 830 PM SEVERAL MILES WEST OF WAUSAU...AND IN THE ELDERON AND WITTENBERG AREAS. AT 845 PM...RADAR INDICATED THAT THE HEAVIEST RAIN WAS FALLING OVER THE NORTHERN HALF OF MARATHON COUNTY AND NORTHWEST SHAWANO COUNTY. THE STRONGER STORMS WILL PRODUCE AS MUCH AS AN INCH OR SO OF RAIN IN LESS THAN TWO HOUR'S TIME. JKL
