000 TTAA00 KGRI 210715 TORGRI NEC073-210745- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HASTINGS NE 213 AM CDT FRI JUN 21 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HASTINGS NE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 245 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA ...GOSPER COUNTY PEOPLE IN AND NEAR ELWOOD AND SMITHFIELD SHOULD MOVE TO THEIR TORNADO SHELTERS AT ONCE. AT 210 THIS MORNING...RADAR SHOWED A TORNADO 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF LEXINGTON JUST SOUTH OF ELWOOD AT 210 THIS MORNING. THE TORNADO WAS MOVING EAST AT 50 MPH. PERSONS IN THE WARNED AREA SHOULD TAKE SHELTER IN A BASEMENT IF AVAILABLE. OTHERWISE GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROONM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR. CARS AND MOBILE HOMES SHOULD BE ABANDONED. STORMS IN NORTHEAST NEBRASKA MAY BE A KICKER...ALONG WITH OLD BOUNDARY FOR SCATTERED SEVERE CONVECTION IN A SHORT TIME IN NEBRASKA.
