CENTRAL NEBRASKA/NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HASTINGS NE
159 PM CDT THU JUN 20 1996

...QUESTION IS THUNDERSTORMS IN CWA TONIGHT AND TEMPERATURES.

FRONT IS ERODING OR LIFTING NORTHWEST. DWPTS IN 70S HAVE MOVED INTO
SC/SE NEBRASKA. SUNSHINE ERODING CAP PER ADAP. STORMS IN NORTHEAST
NEBRASKA MAY BE A KICKER...ALONG WITH OLD BOUNDARY FOR SCATTERED SEVERE
CONVECTION IN A SHORT TIME IN NEBRASKA. STRONGER H85 TO H7 JET WORKING
IN FROM SOUTH MAY ALSO AID IN INITIAL STORM DEVELOPMENT. WIND PROFILE
FAVORABLE FOR POSSIBLE TORNADOES. WILL WATCH CLOSELY AND EXPECT PSBL
WATCH.

BEYOND THAT...A WEAK WAVE ON RUC AND SUGGESTED ON ETA WILL MOVE
INTO NEBRASKA LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. THIS SHOULD FIRE MORE
CONVECTION TO NORTH AND EAST. SAVING GRACE FOR US MAY BE CAP...WHICH
EXPECT TO HOLD IN SRN/WRN CWA AND FACT THAT DYNAMICS APPEAR TO SHIFT
NORTH AND EAST OF CWA BY MIDNIGHT. STRONG SOUTHERLY FLOW TO FEED INTO
REGION TONIGHT KEEP LOWS UP AND BREEZY CONDITIONS.

FRIDAY LOOKS HOT AND BREEZY. WENT JUST ABOVE GUIDANCE AS SOMEWHAT
WESTERLY FLOW MAY EVOLVE WITH H85 LOW TO NORTH. FEELING HERE IS SIMILAR
TO SWODY2 FOR TOMORROW NIGHT AND EXPECTING CONVECTION NORTH OF AREA
NEAR SOUTH DAKOTA BORDER.

SATURDAY...FWC POPS ON INCREASE AND TEMPERATURES LOWERED WITH
SUGGESTION OF ANOTHER BOUNDARY SAGGING SOUTH...ESPECIALLY ON THE ETA.
FEEL THINGS ARE TOO COOL WITH ANOTHER INTERMOUNTAIN SYSTEM FORMING AND
DO NOT LOOK FOR MUCH CHANGE AND WENT QUITE WARM IN NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS.
60HR AVN SUGGESTS WRMR AIR WILL BUILD IN AGAIN.
